Elisa y Marcela is a Netflix Original production and Isabel Coixet's 13th feature film.

I was the Director of Photography for the project. Isabel and I discussed creating two different looks for the film, a muted one that represented the "present" and a high contrast one that seemed almost like a tale re-told in someone's imagination.

Shot in just 4 weeks, it was incredibly rewarding to use light in an expressionistic manner to try to underscore the feelings that the characters were experiencing. You can watch the film on Netflix and see some selected stills below.
